Leading retailer Saigon Co.op yesterday began constructing a second outlet in southern coastal Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, where it plans to have three outlets by 2010.
Co.opMart Ba Ria Supermarket will cover an area of 7,374 square meters in Ba Ria Town, with a total investment of VND73 billion (US$4.42 million). The outlet is expected to begin operating early next year.
Saigon Co.op, which owns 35 outlets nationwide, had opened its first outlet in the province's resort town of Vung Tau earlier this year.
The company is currently building four other outlets nationwide, in line with the target to achieve 100 outlets in Vietnam by 2015.
